Adventure Parks & High Ropes in Birmingham
Birmingham has proper climbing on your doorstep, with Redpoint right in the centre offering top ropes up to 13m and a lights-off room, and Creation Climbing Centre a short way out with roped walls, bouldering and caving from age four. Head to Walsall for Ninja Warrior UK, where you tackle the Warped Wall and Mount Sasuke indoors, or out to Sutton Coldfield for NPF Bassetts Pole, a loud outdoor day of paintball, quad bikes and axe throwing from £35. For free outdoor play, Meriden Park has a zip line, sandpit and fire pit at no cost, and it's fully staffed. Toddlers do better at Air Nation's inflatable park or the soft play corners built into the bigger ropes venues. If proper treetop courses are what you're after, it's a longer trip out to Go Ape Coventry at Coombe Abbey or Conkers in Moira, which pairs high ropes with a splash park for wet days. Book ahead for most of these, cards only at a few.
