What it’s like

A day of zip wires, rock climbing, archery and grass sledging on the hills outside Stourbridge, built for kids eight and up.

This is the big-kid stuff. Climbing up artificial rock pinnacles or the wooden tower, high and low ropes courses, a zip wire strung through the trees, then grass sledging down the hill for when their arms have had enough. There's archery too, air soft, and if the group fancies water they've got kayaking and other watersports on offer. Team challenges like the quad pole and Jacobs ladder are in there for the bits where everyone has to work together rather than just queue for a turn.

The minimum age is 8, and that tracks. This isn't a toddler soft play with a slide bolted on, it's proper outdoor adventure activity, some of it at height, some of it requiring a bit of nerve. A group of ten-year-olds could easily fill a day between the ropes course, a hike out on the Malvern Hills, and archery before they're worn out enough to sit still.

Birthday parties run from age 8 in groups of 8 to 12, with a choice of activities, climbing, zip wire, grass sledging and archery among them, and there's a hall for the party tea afterwards. Food-wise, they say they can cater for dietary requirements if you tell them in advance, and there's a small tuck shop and souvenir shop on site selling low value items, so you don't need to send your child in with a fat wallet.

Parking's free, there's wifi and indoor seating if anyone needs a breather, and the toilets are wheelchair accessible. It's all outdoors, so this one's weather-dependent in the sense that you're out on a hillside all day, not tucked under a roof.
