What it’s like
A barn full of big slides, rope bridges and clamber challenges, with a bouncy pillow that'll wear out the bravest kids first.
The drop slide is the headline here, but it's the hundreds of metres of clamber challenges and rope bridges that'll actually eat your morning. Kids scramble through walkways, fire off the air cannons, then finish (or start, depending on how they play it) on a bouncy pillow that sounds bigger than most back gardens. There's a separate toddler and baby zone too, so you're not watching a two-year-old get flattened by a gang of eight-year-olds mid-sprint.
It's all indoors, which makes it an easy call on a grim wet Tuesday when the park's out of the question. Food's cooked to order rather than microwaved, with burgers and lasagne on the menu. One thing to know before you turn up with a hamper: picnics aren't allowed inside or outside the barn, though there are benches near the farm entrance for customers who want to eat their own food there.
Booking's only really something to think about for weekends and school holidays. Turn up midweek, or early doors, or right at the end of the day, and you should be fine without it. Given the setup, most families end up spending a good chunk of a morning or afternoon here rather than popping in for twenty minutes, mainly because once they've found the drop slide they're not leaving it easily.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
Only really for weekends and school holidays. Midweek or at the quieter start and end of the day you can generally just turn up.
Is there food?
Yes, cooked to order rather than pre-packaged, with burgers and lasagne among the options.
Can we bring a picnic?
Not inside or outside the play barn itself. There are benches near the farm entrance where play barn customers can eat their own food.
Is it suitable for a toddler?
There's a dedicated toddler and baby zone separate from the main frame, so smaller ones aren't dodging older kids on the rope bridges.
What's the big draw for older kids?
The drop slide and the clamber challenges, plus the air cannons if they fancy causing some chaos.
