Adventure Parks & High Ropes in Plymouth
Plymouth Snowsports Centre is close to the centre and lets you toboggan or sno-tube from £5.50 without waiting for actual snow. TimberVault, also right in the city, is built for over-eights and adults, with axe throwing and escape rooms rather than soft play. For the bigger stuff, Dartmoor does most of the heavy lifting: CRS Adventures in Newton Abbot has a 21-platform high ropes course and caving from £6, and River Dart Country Park has zip wires and a 12m free-fall drop for the brave ones. For younger children, Adventure Okehampton takes kids from about five for archery and gorge scrambling with instructors, though it's a longer trip out past Dartmoor. Teenagers and confident climbers are better off at CRS or River Dart. If money's tight, Adrenalin Quarry near Liskeard is free to enter and covers zip lines, a giant swing and an aquapark in one visit. Adrenalin Leisure in Plymouth does ninety-minute indoor sessions for sevens and up, handy on a wet day.
