What it’s like
A Dartmoor adventure park with zip wires, ropes courses, a lake and a 12m free-fall drop for the brave ones.
This one's built around natural terrain rather than tarmac, so expect woods, water and level changes rather than a flat playground. The Day Admission ticket gets you into the big Adventure Playgrounds, and there's a proper list of them: Agility Trail, Climbing Pods, Dam Pool, Low Ropes Course, Mini Zip Wire, Pirate Ship, Snake Slides and more, plus a separate Toddlers Beach and Lilliput play area for the smaller ones who aren't ready for zip wires yet. Swimming in the lake is included too, which is the sort of thing you don't get at most adventure parks.
The bit older kids will go on about afterwards is the Dare Devil section. The High Ropes Course has 21 elements, the Mega Zip Wire runs 150m, and the Dare Devil Drop is a 12m free-fall into the treetops, all with a minimum age of 8 and all needing separate pre-booking on selected dates, at extra cost on top of the day ticket. The Climb and Cave Zone, with its climbing walls and 90m of underground passageways, has a slightly lower minimum age of 5. Instructors can turn people away on the day if they don't meet the height, weight or age restrictions, so it's worth sorting that booking properly in advance rather than hoping to add it at the gate.
Parking's free and folded into the ticket price, which is a nice touch when so many places charge separately. Food comes from the Old Sawmill café bar for a proper sit-down meal, or the Oasis takeaway for pasties and ice cream if you just want to keep moving. Card only at the Park Shop, so leave the cash at home for that bit at least.
Buggies are easier via the track next to the Holne Park House reception rather than trying to cut across the main playground area, and the hard paths are wheelchair accessible even though the wider park is fairly natural underfoot. If you're staying on site as a camper or B&B guest, park access is included for the length of your stay, with Dare Devil activities and the Dartmoor Bike Park still charged separately.

What age do you need to be for the Dare Devil activities?
The High Ropes Course and Mega Zip Wire both have a minimum age of 8. The Climb and Cave Zone has a minimum age of 5.

It costs extra on top of Day Admission and needs pre-booking, along with the Dartmoor Bike Park.
What time do you need to arrive by?
