Adventure Parks & High Ropes in Leeds

Leeds has proper high ropes without needing a long drive. The Climbing Lab is barely two kilometres out and works on membership rather than booking, with colour-coded routes for kids from five. Head to Temple Newsam and Go Ape has zip lines and rope bridges strung through the trees from age four, while further out at Herd Farm it's a full day of zip lines, giant swing and mountain boarding for eight and up. For something further afield, How Stean Gorge near Harrogate adds caves and a via ferrata to the ropes, for ages seven and over. For toddlers, Depot Climbing Armley takes bouldering and auto-belay from age one, and Clip 'n Climb in the city centre or out at Garforth gives a strict hour in the arena from age two. Older kids and teens get more choice, with Mission Out's airbag jump and lake rafts from age six, or Bradley Wood near Brighouse packing high ropes, zip wire and archery into one day from £30. If money's tight, Anglers Country Park in Wakefield and Elsecar Park in Barnsley are both free.
