What it’s like
Climbing towers, a giant waterslide and a Leap of Faith platform on a site that mostly runs by booked session, not walk-up.
This is an outdoor activity centre built for groups rather than passing families, so most of what's on offer, climbing, the assault course, bushcraft with fire lighting, the waterslide, Nightline in the dark, canoeing or paddleboarding, comes as a booked session or a party package rather than something you rock up to on a Saturday. That's worth knowing before you plan a spontaneous day out, because the site is clear it isn't open to the public unless there's an event, party or specific session running.
Kids from about 4 up to 17 are catered for, though the two holiday clubs split the age bands: Maple runs 8 to 16 at £45, and Willow, the SEND club, covers 8 to 17 at £65. The Leap of Faith is the one your braver ten-year-old will bring up on the drive home, a platform jump that looks worse than it is once you're actually stood on it. Group activity sessions run two hours and cover up to 12 people (16 for the waterslide, 8 for Nightline), from £220 for bushcraft up to £275 for the assault course, which stings a bit until you divide it across a dozen kids.
Family water sessions, canoeing or paddleboarding, are £20 and the most straightforward way in if you're not organising a big group or a party. Birthday parties get their own activity packages and there's parking on site for up to 50 cars, though a large group can eat into the disabled spaces fast. The site has disabled access to all its buildings, a disabled toilet and a motorised buggy on hand, which is more thought given to access than a lot of outdoor centres bother with.
