What it’s like

A course of climbing, balancing and inflatable bouncing built around the actual Warped Wall from the telly show.

This is the proper course, the one off the TV, so the Warped Wall is the thing every kid over about seven has already got fixed in their head before they've even got their trainers on. Getting up it takes a run and a bit of nerve, and it's the sort of thing they'll be telling you about in the car home. Beyond that there's climbing, balancing across obstacles and an inflatable to bounce across, plus a Mini Ninjas soft play area for the younger ones who aren't quite ready for the big course.

It's a trainers job, no way round that, and gloves are advised if you don't fancy sore palms. If you're heading up to the Airpark bit, Ninja Warrior UK socks are required, so factor that into what you're carrying or buying on the day. Under-3s can't come into the park during sessions and buggies aren't allowed in, which is a proper faff if you've got more than one child in tow.

Booking online is pushed hard here, and waivers need doing for every guest before you arrive, not on the day, so that's one to sort the night before rather than in the car park. They want you there 20 minutes early for check-in and a safety briefing, and turning up late means you lose that time from your session with no refund, which feels a bit harsh but it's clearly how they run it. Anyone under 12 needs a parent on site throughout, and for a four-year-old they'd rather you were on the course with them, which means buying yourself a ticket too.

The café does food and drink and it's a cashless venue, so leave the coins at home. Spectators can watch free from the café viewing area, or get a wristband to pop onto the park itself for photos.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Prices aren't something we can quote here, but parties start from £16 per child which gives you a rough steer.

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, and they push online booking hard for the best price. Waivers for everyone in your group need completing online before you arrive too.

What age can children start?

Four and up for the main course, with no maximum age. Under-3s can't access the park during sessions.

Do parents need to go on the course too?

Anyone under 12 needs a parent on site the whole time, and they'd rather four-year-olds had an adult with them on the obstacles, which means buying your own ticket.

What should we wear?

Trainers are compulsory and gloves are a good shout for grip. If you're using the Airpark you'll need their own Ninja Warrior UK socks.

Can we bring a buggy or our own food?

Buggies aren't allowed in during sessions, and you can't bring your own food as there's a café on site.

How early should we arrive?

Twenty minutes before your session for check-in, wristbands and a safety briefing. Turn up late and you lose that time, no refunds.

Is there parking?

Parking's free on site. It's also about five minutes from Cross Gates Station if you're coming by train.
