What it’s like
Quad biking, clay shooting, axe throwing and archery on one site, aimed squarely at teens and adults rather than young kids.
This one's built around the sort of activities that get argued over on a stag do or a fifteenth birthday. Quad biking is the headline, but you can also book clay pigeon shooting, air rifle shooting, archery, axe throwing or crossbow shooting, each run as its own session lasting 50 to 60 minutes. There's no soft option here for a bored six-year-old to potter about with, this is a minimum age of 12, so it's one for older kids and teenagers who fancy something with a bit of noise and recoil to it.
Prices are per activity rather than one flat entry fee, and they add up. Axe throwing is the cheapest way in at £15, air rifle shooting is £25, crossbow shooting £30, and clay pigeon shooting tops the list at £35. If you want to do two or three activities in a day, work out the total before you commit, because it stops being a cheap afternoon out fairly quickly.
Booking has to happen in advance and by phone or email rather than just turning up, and the office only answers calls Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. Weekends are email only for queries, which is a faff if you decide on a Saturday morning that you fancy a go at axe throwing that afternoon. There's also a minimum group size, two people Sunday to Friday and four on Saturdays between March and October, so a solo teenager wanting a session will need to bring mates or wait for a weekday.
It's an outdoor site open every day from 9am to 5pm, and there's a café on site for afterwards. With sessions running under an hour each, most families will pick one or two activities rather than trying to fit in all six in a single visit.

Yes, booking is required and it's done by phone or email rather than on the day. The booking office answers calls Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and weekends are email only.
