Adventure Parks & High Ropes in Cardiff
If your kids are happiest strapped into something, Cardiff itself has one close in: Cardiff International White Water, near the centre, where rafting and tubing on the man-made course starts at £35 for ages six and up. For actual ropes and zip wires, it's a longer trip out to Margam, where Go Ape runs high ropes and zip lines for ages 10+ from £36.95. It sits inside Margam Country Park, over in Port Talbot, which is free to enter and has its own farm trail and adventure playground if you'd rather not pay for the ropes. For younger children, Barry Island Pleasure Park is free to walk into, with token-paid rides from gentle waltzers up to a 215-foot tower, good for a family with a real age spread. Older kids and teens are better suited to Go Ape or the white water course, both with minimum ages attached. If you're planning a group trip rather than a day out, Rock UK Summit Centre out at Treharris runs residential stays with climbing, canoeing and caving. Bristol is an option too, for tree to tree zip lines from £21.95.
