Pantomime & Family Theatre in London
The West End does most of the heavy lifting here, with the Garrick doing acrobatics and comedy alongside its musical shows for under-15s from £17.50, and Theatre Royal Haymarket putting on Peppa Pig's Big Family Show for around £10 with an interval built in. Head out to Stratford in London's east and Stratford East has Surinderella, a proper panto with an Indian spin on Cinderella for five-year-olds and up. For teens and grown-ups, Prince Edward Theatre's Beetlejuice is a strict 12+ and Dominion Theatre won't let under 5s in at all, so save those for later. Toddlers do better at the Old Vic, with its script library and cafe open to anyone, or artsdepot, where there's free soft play and coffee while they potter about. Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is the one for a fine evening, tickets from £7.50, weather permitting. Park Theatre mixes relaxed shows, comedy nights and drag storytelling for a change from the West End transfers, and Southwark Playhouse Borough has a bar for the adults during the family show.
