What it’s like
A proper panto stage in Stratford, with Surinderella putting an Indian spin on Cinderella for kids five and up.
This is panto done properly, with a full family theatre programme rather than a school-hall knockabout. The one on the site's books is Surinderella, an Indian retelling of Cinderella played for laughs and aimed at five-plus, so don't drag a toddler along expecting them to sit still through it.
They want you there fifteen minutes before curtain up, and the auditorium opens half an hour before that, so you've got time for a drink in the bar first. Kids are allowed in the bar too, as long as there's an adult with them, and there's Caribbean food from Island Vibez Kitchen if you fancy eating there rather than rushing off. £10 tickets are held back in the stalls for every performance, which is a decent shout if the main pricing's crept up by the time you book, and under-17s get concessions on most shows. Carers go free, which is worth knowing if you're bringing someone who needs support.
It's a five-minute walk from Stratford Station. E-tickets land on your phone or in your account, no printer needed. The building's wheelchair accessible, with a free companion ticket for disabled visitors, and there's an Access page on their site if you need more detail on that before you book.
If you're bringing a bigger group, groups of nine or more get a tenth ticket free, though you'll need to book that one by phone or in person rather than online. Groups of ten or more can also reserve seats and pay later with a call to the box office, handy if you're trying to pin down a school trip or a birthday gang before everyone's confirmed.
