What it’s like

Beetlejuice on stage in the West End, aimed at teens and adults rather than young kids, with a strict 12+ recommendation.

This one's for the older kids, not the toddlers. Beetlejuice is running at the Prince Edward and the age recommendation is 12+, with under-3s not admitted at all and anyone under 16 needing to sit next to an adult ticket holder aged 18 or over. Everyone needs their own ticket, babies included in theory, so this isn't a cheap family outing to duck into on a whim.

The show runs about 2 hours 40 minutes with an interval, which is a decent chunk of an evening for a young teenager, especially with school the next day. Prices swing about depending on when you go: selected autumn performances are £30, group rates for six or more are £55, and there's an Accelerator Rate of £39.50 for Monday to Friday or the Friday matinee if you book ten or more seats. Schools bringing groups get their own education pricing, £17.50 in the Grand Circle or £25 for Stalls and Dress Circle.

Food is a bit of a faff if you like a bite before curtain up. You can't bring in anything bought elsewhere, and while the bars do drinks and snacks, there's no hot food, so eat properly beforehand if you want more than crisps at the interval. Turn up late and you might be left waiting in the foyer until a suitable break in the performance, and even then they can't promise you'll get in, so build in time to find the place and your seats.

Booking's essential here, there's no walking up and hoping for the best. Beetlejuice is booking through to 2nd January 2027, and Miss Saigon takes over after that from 13th May 2027. There are no shows on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve or Sunday 3rd January, so check your date lands on a performance night before you plan around it.

How old do kids need to be for Beetlejuice?

It's recommended for 12 and over with adult supervision. Under-3s aren't admitted at all, and anyone under 16 has to sit next to a ticket holder who's 18 or older.

Does my toddler need their own ticket?

Everyone needs their own ticket regardless of age, though under-3s can't come in anyway.

How much are tickets?

Selected autumn shows are £30, and prices go up from there depending on the seats and date. Group bookings of six or more get £55 seats, and there's a £39.50 rate for larger bookings on weekday or Friday matinee performances.

Can we bring snacks or a drink in with us?

Not from outside. The bars sell drinks and snacks but no hot food, so eat beforehand if you want a proper meal.

How long does the show last?

About 2 hours and 40 minutes including the interval.

What happens if we're running late?

You'll be held until a suitable break in the show, and even then they can't guarantee you'll get a seat in time.

Do we need to book ahead?

Yes, booking is required. Beetlejuice is on sale until 2nd January 2027, and Miss Saigon takes over from 13th May 2027.
