Pantomime & Family Theatre in Manchester

Manchester does panto properly, and close in you've got choices. Chorlton Players charge £7 a ticket and won't fuss about where you sit, Guide Bridge Theatre is a proper small stage for a first pantomime (book ahead, there are only two wheelchair spaces), and Northenden Players Theatre Club asks £5 from non-members. Out at Hyde there are two stages worth knowing, one with relaxed and BSL performances built into the run, the other running weekly youth theatre from age four. Further out in Stockport, Cheadle and over towards Wigan and Oldham there's more choice again. For toddlers, stick close to the centre and check the age guidance, Carver Theatre's pyrotechnics will spook under-fours. Older children can handle the bigger stages further out, like Wigan Little Theatre from £12, but book those seats in advance. If cost matters, Chorlton and Northenden keep it under a tenner. Everything here is indoors, so it's a good rainy day sort.
