The Brindley
WHERE
Runcorn
What it’s like
A theatre stage for panto and family shows, with a café and free parking right opposite.
This is a seat-in-the-dark job rather than somewhere to let the kids loose, so it suits ones who can sit through a performance without needing to get up and wander. What's actually on will decide whether it works for your lot, panto and family shows tend to run a couple of hours, and that's a long stretch for a very young child.
The café's open weekdays from 11am to 3pm, and again for an hour before performances if you fancy grabbing something on the way in rather than queuing at the interval. Building work means the Monday to Friday hours are currently the same 11am to 3pm slot, so if you're planning round a weekday visit outside a show, that's your window.
Parking's free, which is one less thing to budget for on top of tickets. It's at the old Crossville car park across from the theatre, off the A533 Bridgewater Expressway, and having it free and right opposite beats circling for a space before curtain up.
