Players Theatre
WHERE
Cheadle Hulme
What it’s like
A local stage putting on theatrical productions, with a season ticket that gets you four shows for the price of three.
This is a proper theatre rather than a soft play with a stage bolted on, so what you're getting is your kids sat watching a live production rather than climbing over anything. It suits families who fancy an actual sit-down show over an afternoon of running about, which makes a nice change if you've had one of those weeks.
The seating's indoor and there's a hearing loop in, which is a detail a lot of venues skip and worth knowing if anyone in your group needs it. Wheelchair access is sorted too. There's food on site, so you're not having to time a visit around a meal at home first, and wifi if you need to sort something out mid-interval.
The one that catches the eye is the season ticket: four performances for the price of three. If you know you'll be back more than once in a season, that's the offer to go for rather than paying full whack each time. Parking's on site as well, which takes one bit of faff out of the evening.
There's no booking link listed.
