Farms & Petting Farms in Leicester
Leicester itself is not exactly overrun with farms, so most of the choice sits a drive out. Tropical Birdland is the closest, out at Desford, with walk-through parrots and flamingos for £9.45 a child. Stonehurst Farm at Mountsorrel is much the same distance and adds tractor rides, a straw barn and its own Motor Museum, with under-2s free. A longer trip out to East Leake gets you Manor Farm Park and Woodlands, where booking ahead pays off on busy days and off-peak online tickets start at £8.95. For toddlers, Windmill Farm Park in Kibworth Harcourt covers ages one to ten with an indoor play barn as a backup if the weather turns. Pukka Pacas & Friends out at Boundary is the cheapest at £5 entry, turn up Thursday to Sunday, though alpaca walks cost extra. If you want a proper occasion rather than a wander, Farmer Barnes Dairy near Somerby does pre-booked birthday tours with calves and a milking gallery from £10 a head, but you do need to book ahead.
