WHAT IT’S LIKE
25 acres of farm, woodland dino trail and Nottinghamshire's biggest indoor playbarn, free parking, buggy-friendly paths and cheaper tickets if you book online.
Manor Farm Park & Woodlands is a farm park in East Leake with over 25 acres of countryside, playgrounds and an indoor playbarn, aimed squarely at young families. Kids get up close with farm animals, watch falconry flying demonstrations, groom donkeys at weekends and during school holidays, and follow the World of Dinosaur Roar! Discovery Trail through the woodland to find seven giant dinosaurs. There are three outdoor playgrounds (including the newest accessible play area) plus Nottinghamshire's largest indoor adventure play centre, Jenny & Jack's Indoor Adventure, with a pirate ship, a spooky castle with secret rooms, pedal-karts, football, big slides, ball cannons and a soft-play/toy area specifically for under-fours. Most paths are pushchair- and wheelchair-friendly, though the Fort Adventure Playground is reached over grass and the falconry centre (Hawks & Squawks) and owl centre (Hoots Hollows) share a path with a steep incline in parts. Parking is free and doesn't need booking. Food-wise there's Antlers Bistro at the main entrance (open to the public too, 9.30am–3pm) and The Laughing Donkey Cafe inside the playbarn (10am–4.45pm); picnics are welcome at benches around the farm and in a dedicated indoor picnic area, just not inside either café. Note socks are compulsory for the playbarn slides, and only registered guide dogs are allowed on site. Book online rather than turning up on spec, weekends and school holidays often sell out, and online tickets are cheaper than paying on the gate. The farm also runs seasonal events (FoamFest, circus, SpudFest, PumpkinFest) and offers birthday parties for up to 22 children, annual memberships and gift vouchers.
