What it’s like
Mountsorrel working farm - animals, tractor rides, straw barn play and Motor Museum. Child from £8.95; under-2s free.
Stonehurst Farm in Mountsorrel is a proper working family farm - meet the cows, sheep and pigs, hold rabbits and guinea pigs, collect eggs, and hop on a tractor and trailer ride around the fields. Children's pony rides run daily when available, and the straw barn with rope swings plus farmyard playgrounds give kids space to burn energy outdoors. Farm admission includes the play areas, nature trail, Motor Museum and free tractor rides.
Expect Tuesday-Sunday 9:30am-5pm, plus Bank Holiday Mondays and every day in Leicestershire school holidays. Child tickets from about £8.95 (ages 2-16); adults from about £9.95; under-2s free but still need a ticket. Walk-ins are welcome, or book ahead online when you prefer. The Farmer's Den tea shop and farm shop are open to the public without a farm ticket; picnics are fine on the outdoor picnic areas.
Honest heads-up: typical Mondays are closed outside holidays, farm terrain can be uneven, and dogs stay out of the farm park (tea-shop first room and outdoor seating only). Birthday parties are on offer if you want a farm party day.
