Live Music & Gigs in Glasgow
Most of this is city centre stuff, gigs and club nights within a mile or two of the middle of Glasgow. Kelvingrove Bandstand does outdoor concerts and the odd film screening in the park, free of a curfew and good for a daytime out. BAaD at the Barras has weekend brunch hours before the live music starts, and a dog friendly backyard bar if you fancy bringing the dog along too. Out at Stirling, about 21 miles away, The Tolbooth lets babes in arms under 18 months in free, though everyone else needs their own seat. For families, timing matters more than the venue. The Rum Shack and Berlinkys will feed your kids but only until 8pm and 7pm respectively, and Avant Garde stops serving food at 8pm too. Bag o' Nails does a proper kids menu at Sunday brunch, then turns into an adults' bar later on. Anything past that point, from Cathouse Rock Club's 14+ gigs to Audio Glasgow's 16+ and 18+ shows and Bloc+, Classic Grand, Room 2 and The Social's late-night bills, is really for older teens and grown-ups only.
