What it’s like
A three-room rock and metal club with live gigs across Level 1, Level 2 and the Jäger Bar, strictly for the fourteen-plus crowd.
This one's for the teenagers who've outgrown soft play and want an actual gig. Cathouse splits into three spaces, Level 1, Level 2 and the Jäger Bar, each with its own flavour of rock and metal, so a night here isn't one band in one room but a proper crawl between different sounds under one roof.
The age line is firm: fourteen and up, no younger. That rules out a family trip in the usual sense, but it's exactly the sort of place a fifteen-year-old who's just discovered metal will talk about for weeks, especially with older mates or a parent happy to stand at the back.
Worth knowing before you plan around it: the building's old and it shows, multiple flights of stairs and no lift, so it's not wheelchair accessible and there's no accessible toilet, just a larger cubicle in the non-binary toilets. They do let an essential companion in free for deaf or disabled patrons, and say sensory bags with ear defenders and a stress ball will be available to borrow, which is a decent gesture in a venue that's otherwise a faff to get around.
