Galleries & Exhibitions in York

Only two names on this page, and they could hardly be more different. York's Chocolate Story sits right in the centre, a guided tour through 4000 years of chocolate history that ends with you rolling truffles and decorating your own lolly, from £15 and best booked ahead. For something with more space and no cost at all, there's a drive out to Malton for the Robert Fuller Gallery, a free wildlife art gallery on the Yorkshire Wolds with live nest cam feeds, documentary films and original paintings to wander round. If you want everyone hands-on and it's an occasion, the chocolate tour suits ages 4 to 15 and has a cafe and gift shop to round off the visit. If you'd rather browse at your own pace and keep costs down, the gallery in Malton is free to enter, has parking on site and somewhere to eat, and works well for older children who'll sit with the nest cams for a while. Both are wheelchair accessible.
