What it’s like

Free entry to a small art gallery with a changing display of original works, open Thursday evenings and one weekend a month.

This is a quiet one for the diary rather than a big day out: a gallery showing a changing display of original works, with no charge to walk round and look. It suits an adult wanting an hour of calm more than a family outing with young kids in tow, given the hours on offer.

The opening times are unusual and worth building your visit around. It's open Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, and again on the first weekend of every month from 11am to 5pm. Outside those windows, the gallery says you can still get in by phoning ahead to arrange it, which is a nice option if the fixed slots don't suit but does mean a bit of forward planning rather than just turning up.

There's no booking link to click, just a phone call if you want to visit outside the regular hours. With free entry and a display that changes, it's the sort of place you could pop back to every so often and see something different on the walls each time.
