Immersive & Touring Exhibitions in York
York's centre is full of guided walks and tours rather than big attractions, and most start right where you're standing. The Ghost Bus Tours York puts you on a vintage Routemaster for a 75-minute comedy-horror ride from £14, ages 5 and up. The Original Ghost Walk of York is cheaper at £6 and sets off at 8pm for a haunted stroll of about 75 to 90 minutes. For something less spooky, the Wizard Walk of York is built for ages 3 to 10, an hour and a quarter of stories and stops ending in a photo. If your kids are younger, the Wizard Walk beats the ghost tours for age fit, and Shadows of York Ghost Walk (from £8, ages 8+) is one to save for kids who can actually handle being frightened. Everything above is on foot in York itself, so you could manage two in a day without much planning. For a proper day out rather than an hour on your feet, it's a longer trip out to Malton for Eden Camp, where £15 gets you 22 wartime huts, two playgrounds and free parking.
