What it’s like
An 18-hole dinosaur-themed adventure golf course that takes about an hour to play, with a play area and food on site.
Eighteen holes of dinosaur-themed adventure golf is the whole point here, and it's built to take about an hour, so it's a proper outing rather than a quick knock about. There's an adventure play area too, so if one of you finishes the course before the others (or loses interest at hole nine), there's somewhere to go instead of trailing round moaning.
The pricing is a bit of a puzzle. Adults are £11.50 and children under 14 come in at £10.50, though there's a separate £9.50 child rate listed too. A family ticket for four (max two adults) is £40, which beats paying separately, and NHS staff or students get in for £8 with the right card. Booking ahead is pushed hard here, with a 75p fee tacked on.
Food-wise you've got an outdoor kiosk for hot food, snacks and ice creams, or The Bunker indoors with pizzas, hot dogs, milkshakes and waffles, plus a full bar if the grown-ups fancy a pint mid-round. Parking's free on site, single prams can go round the course with you, and the course itself has no steps and decent access space throughout. Dogs aren't allowed on site, worth knowing if a walk was part of the plan.
It's open every day from 8am to 8.30pm bar Christmas Day, and with four as the minimum age, it suits families once the kids are old enough to actually swing a club and follow a hole round rather than wander off.
