What it’s like
A room full of pinball machines from the 1980s through to modern tables, open just four days a week.
This one's for kids who are past the toddler soft play stage and into proper machines. It's a straightforward setup: a collection of pinball tables spanning the 1980s to modern day, and you pay to get on and play. No screens telling you what to do, no ball pits, just flippers and high scores.
The age limit is the thing to check first. Ten is the minimum here, so this isn't one for younger siblings tagging along, it's built for kids who can actually work a pinball table and enjoy the challenge of it. Tuesday and Friday evenings run a flat £10 session from 5 till 9, while weekends switch to an hourly rate, £10 for adults and £5 for a child aged 10 to 15, or £20 for the whole day if you're planning to make an afternoon of it. That hourly weekend pricing is worth doing the maths on before you go in, an all day ticket only makes sense once you're staying more than two hours.
There's no food or drink sold on site, so you bring your own or sort your own catering, which is fine if you know in advance but a bit of a faff if you turn up expecting a snack bar. Birthday parties are on offer too, from £100 for a midweek slot up to £200 at weekends, which could work well for a kid who's already into the machines rather than a first-timer.
It's a short walk from New Street station, about ten minutes, and there are two car parks nearby if you're driving in, the Zellig Building and Trinity Street. No booking needed, you can just turn up during opening hours.
