What it’s like

Full-body VR missions with wind, heat and shaking floors, built for squads of ten-year-olds and up.

This isn't sit-in-a-corner-with-a-headset VR. The physical effects are the whole point, so a Tower mission that spins you 360 degrees or a Paraglider tour that throws in wind and heat is going to feel a lot more real than the VR your kid might have tried elsewhere. There's a UFO multiplayer battle and a Hero action simulator too, plus 3D racing with force feedback if someone wants to sit down for a bit. Four-player squad missions mean a birthday group can go in together rather than taking turns.

The age line matters here: they recommend 10 and up for the VR, so this is one for the older end rather than a family outing with a five-year-old in tow. At £8 a go it adds up fast if you've got a squad of four or five wanting a couple of missions each, so it's worth deciding upfront how many rides you're actually paying for.

They're open from midday every day, running to 9pm most nights and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Booking online is recommended if you want a specific mission time, though drop-ins are fine for a quick go, which is handy if you're passing and fancy squeezing one mission in rather than planning a whole visit around it.
