What it’s like
Vintage fairground rides, a heritage railway and a soft play barn on one site near Tamworth, plus mini golf outdoors.
This is a proper old-school fairground brought back to life. Kids ride Ghost Train, Moon Rockets, Ark Speedway and the Gallopers, then have a go on the vintage arcade machines and prize stalls that feel a world away from a modern seaside pier. There's a countryside train ride included in the ticket, unlimited on the day, and Little Statfold gives smaller ones a role play village to potter about in. Toby's Barn has a three-tiered soft play if the weather turns or you just need a sit down with a coffee.
Rides themselves aren't included in the entry price, you buy tokens separately and most rides take 2 or 3 tokens per person, so budget a bit extra on top of the gate price if you want a proper go on everything. Height restrictions apply on most of the rides too, and younger kids will often need an adult riding alongside, so it's not a site where you can just point them at a ride and wander off for a coffee.
Peak days run £10 for adults, kids and seniors alike, with a family ticket at £40 for two adults and two children. Fridays are the better value option at £5 a head under the PLAYday rate, worth building a visit around if you can do a weekday. It's not open daily though, this is an event-date site. Booking ahead is advised even though it isn't strictly compulsory, since gate entry is judged event by event and they warn you could be turned away.
Food-wise there's a proper spread, Café Diane for paninis and coffee, Café Carousel doing afternoon tea, plus Peeler's Bar and Christopher's Kitchen, with gluten free, vegan and dairy free options covered. The site is flat with level access throughout, the trains take wheelchairs, and there's a lift to the mezzanine in the museum, though the vintage tram can't be adapted for wheelchair access. Parking's free on site, dogs on leads are welcome outdoors, and you can bring a picnic as long as you eat it in the designated spots rather than inside the museum hall or diner.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£10 each for adults, children and seniors on peak days, or £40 for a family of four. Fridays are a PLAYday rate at £5 a head, which is the cheaper day to go.
Are the rides included in the ticket?
No, rides run on tokens bought separately and most cost 2 or 3 tokens a go. Worth factoring into your budget if you want more than a couple of rides.
Do we need to book ahead?
It isn't compulsory but they judge gate entry event by event and say you could be turned away without a ticket, so booking ahead is the safer bet.
Is it open every day?
It's open on event dates rather than daily, so check the events calendar before you plan a visit.
Is there height restrictions on the rides?
Most rides have height limits and younger children will usually need an adult to ride with them.
Is there anywhere to eat?
Several catering spots including Café Diane for sandwiches and coffee, Café Carousel for afternoon tea, plus Peeler's Bar and Christopher's Kitchen. Gluten free, vegan and dairy free options are available.
Can we bring our own food?
Picnics are fine in the designated spots, outdoor benches and the Foden Suite room, but not inside the museum hall or Diane's Diner unless you've bought it there.
Is there parking?
Free parking on site with disabled parking available.
Is it suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?
The site is level with pushchair access throughout, trains accommodate wheelchairs, and there's a lift to the museum mezzanine. The vintage tram can't be adapted for wheelchair use though.
Can we bring the dog?
Dogs on leads are welcome outdoors but not in the catering areas or Toby's Barn soft play.
Do you do birthday parties?
Birthday celebrations are available, and Café Carousel offers afternoon tea or private hire for birthdays and anniversaries.
Is there anything wet weather friendly?
Toby's Barn has a three-tiered soft play if you need to get indoors, alongside the museum hall itself.
