What it’s like
Free park with two playgrounds, meadow trails and wooded bits to explore, plus spots for a picnic.
Two playgrounds are the anchor here, but the bit that'll actually eat your afternoon is the trails through the meadows and the wooded areas either side. It's all outdoor, so a dry day makes the difference between a proper wander and a quick dash between swings.
There's no entry fee, which is the sort of detail that changes how you plan a Saturday. No ticket to buy, no session to book, you just turn up and let the kids pick which playground they want first. Picnics are allowed in specific spots around the park, so if you're bringing your own lunch it's worth having a scout about for the right patch of grass rather than plonking down anywhere.
With two separate playgrounds on site, it's easy enough to split off with a toddler while an older one heads for the trails or the wooded stretch. There's nothing here that pushes you into a certain length of visit, it's the sort of park where an hour or three hours both work depending on how far you let the legs wander.
