Farm Park
WHERE
Birmingham
What it’s like
An open park with a playground, football pitch and cricket area for kids to knock a ball about, plus space to walk the dog.
This one's less "farm" and more open green space with a proper playground bolted on. There's a children's playground to start with, then a basketball court, a cricket practice area and a football pitch that isn't marked out, so it doubles as space for whatever game your kids fancy that day. If you've got a dog, it's clearly set up for walking one too, so this works as a two-for-one trip if the family pet needs a stretch as much as the kids do.
It suits kids who want to actually move rather than look at animals behind a fence, which is a bit of an odd fit for something called a Farm Park, but there you go. The football and cricket bits mean it leans toward kids old enough to want a proper game rather than toddlers pottering about, though the playground itself will keep smaller ones busy while older siblings have a kickabout.
One thing to flag straight off: there are no toilets on site. That's a genuine faff with young kids.

What is there for kids to do?
A children's playground, a basketball court, a cricket practice area and a football pitch that isn't marked out, so it's flexible for whatever game they want.
Are there toilets on site?
No, there aren't any toilets, so it's worth planning around that with younger kids.
Can we bring the dog?
Dog walking is one of the things listed for the site, so it works well as a joint trip.
Is it suitable for toddlers?
The playground would suit younger kids, though the cricket and football areas are more geared towards older children who want a proper game.
