What it’s like

An hour locked in a themed room with your team, solving puzzles and riddles against the clock before the door opens again.

You get sixty minutes, a locked room, and a pile of puzzles standing between you and the exit. It's a private booking, so it's just your group in there, no strangers thrown in to slow you down or hog the good clues. Once time's up you get a free group photo to prove whether you cracked it or got left banging on the door.

Age eight is the floor here, and the rules get fiddly the younger your team is. Under 12s need an adult with them, 12 to 16 year olds can play without one on some games as long as an adult stays on site, and 16 to 18 year olds can go it alone only if an adult signs a waiver and hangs about in the building. Under 6s go free but honestly won't get much out of it, six and up pay the standard rate. Worth reading properly before you book if you're bringing a mixed-age group, because it's not as simple as "kids welcome."

A couple of things to flag before you commit. Some rooms have crawling tunnels. Turn up late and you lose minutes off your hour, more than twenty minutes late and the booking's simply cancelled with no refund, which feels harsh but at least it's clearly stated upfront. Cashless payment only, and if you bring extra players on the day they pay on arrival rather than in advance.

There's parking at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, and Redditch Railway Station is only two or three minutes' walk if you're coming by train. No photos or filming allowed once you're in the room itself, so leave the phone in your pocket until that group shot at the end.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost and how long do we get?

You get 60 minutes of gameplay. Under 6s go free, ages 6 and up pay the standard player rate.

Do we need to book in advance?

Booking online or by phone is the safe way to go. Walk-ins are taken on a first-come, first-served basis if there's space.

What age is this suitable for?

The minimum age is 8. Under 12s need an adult with them, and there are extra rules for 12 to 18 year olds around whether an adult has to stay on site.

Is there parking?

Yes, on-site parking at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre. The railway station is a two to three minute walk if you'd rather come by train.

Can we bring extra people who weren't on the original booking?

As long as the room capacity allows it. You don't need to notify them in advance, but extra players pay on arrival and it's cashless.

What happens if we're running late?

More than 15 minutes late and your game timer starts anyway, eating into your hour. More than 20 minutes late and the booking's cancelled with no refund.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Generally not. Some premises have staircases and some rooms involve crawling tunnels, so it's best to call ahead and discuss what you need.
