What it’s like
Locked-room puzzle games for older kids and teens, from a casino heist to a haunted hospital, with an hour on the clock.
This is proper escape room territory rather than a soft play with a puzzle bolted on. Pick your theme: a Casino Heist, the Victorian horror of Jack the Ripper, a haunted hospital in Room 13, or the sci-fi Time Machine room, and you get an hour to crack the puzzles and get out. The site is upfront that under-10s can find some of the puzzle logic tough going, and under-16s need a paying adult in the group with them, so this suits an eleven-year-old who fancies themselves a detective far more than a family with a toddler in tow.
Budget an hour and a half all in, even though the game itself is an hour, because there's a briefing before and a debrief after. Rooms run £20 a player, £22 for Time Machine, and you book in advance rather than turning up on spec. Arrive too early and you're not stuck outside either, there's a 1920s Speakeasy bar to sit in with a drink until your slot's called, which is a nice touch if your group's running early and the kids need somewhere to sit still for ten minutes.
The cancellation policy is worth knowing before you pay: no refunds if you cancel, and moving your booking is free with more than 24 hours notice but costs £20 if you leave it later than that. Turn up late and they won't extend your session either, your hour just gets shorter to fit around whoever's booked in after you. Parking is a short walk at St Paul's Square rather than right outside, since parking directly outside the venue on the private road can get you a ticket.
Bigger groups should know the rooms aren't huge, so a large party might find they clear the puzzles faster with more brains on the job and less space to spread out in. Wheelchair access is available for at least the Casino Heist room if that's a factor for your group.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£20 a player for most rooms, £22 for Time Machine. You can add an extra person on the day if your group's under the room's max size, and pay for them when you arrive.
Do we need to book ahead?
Yes, advance booking is how it works here. You can reschedule free with more than 24 hours notice, but it's a £20 fee if you leave it later than that, and no refunds for cancelling outright.
How long does it take?
The game itself is an hour, but they say to allow an hour and a half from arriving to leaving once you count the briefing and debrief.
Is it suitable for young kids?
Under-10s might struggle with some of the puzzle logic, and anyone under 16 needs a paying adult in their group. It's really built for teens and adults rather than younger children.
What time should we arrive?
More than 10 minutes before your slot. If you're early, there's a 1920s Speakeasy bar to wait in with a drink.
What if we're late?
They'll try to fit you in, but if there's another booking straight after yours, your game time gets cut short by however late you are.
Is there parking nearby?
St Paul's Square is a two minute walk and costs £1.60 for two hours, plus there's paid parking on nearby streets. Don't park directly outside the venue or on the same street, it's a private road and you can get a ticket.
Can we do a birthday party or group booking here?
They do birthday parties and group bookings with party rooms available.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Wheelchair access is available for at least the Casino Heist room.
