Soft Play in Edinburgh

Edinburgh has soft play scattered right across the city, from TimeTwisters with its crocodile pit swing and rapids slide (from £4.95) to Tumbles at Portobello, split into baby, toddler and junior zones so a crawler and a ten-year-old both find their level. Over at Clambers in the Royal Commonwealth Pool, babies get their own separate area while the juniors head upstairs to a football pitch and slides. Out at Kirkliston, Conifox runs ninety-minute sessions on a four-level frame with a red Goliath slide, and there's a gated toddler zone if the big stuff is too much, from £2.95. For toddlers, look at the under_5s_area at Make Believe or the baby zones at Tumbles and Clambers. If you want somewhere for older kids to properly tire themselves out, Funparx has a three-storey frame with a 25-challenge ninja course and an arcade on the same ticket. Scrambles at EICA Ratho and Jabberwocky in Haddington both do free parking, and Jabberwocky's café serves proper lunches rather than just snacks, handy if you're staying for a while.
