What it’s like
Indoor electric go-karting, laser tag and simulator racing on Assetto Corsa, built more for older kids than toddlers.
This one's for the eight-plus crowd rather than a family soft play substitute. The main event is electric go-karting indoors, with race suits handed out over your clothes and a strict closed-toe shoes rule, so trainers on, ballet pumps and flip-flops left at home. Drivers need to be 8 or over and at least 147cm tall, and any under-16 needs an adult of 18-plus staying on site for the whole session, even if that adult never gets in a kart themselves.
Laser tag has a lower age limit of 6, and each session is three 12-minute games back to back, which is a decent stretch for younger ones who might flag on a full kart session. If you've got a mixed-age group, that's the one to lean on for the younger kids while the older ones queue for karts. There's also simulator racing running Assetto Corsa, which is worth saving as the quieter option if the karting queue's long or someone's not tall enough yet.
Food-wise there's a proper bar and café doing freshly cooked pizzas, plus beer and cider for the adults, though simulator racers are the only ones allowed a drink mid-event since karting drivers have to attend the briefing sober enough to drive. You can't bring your own food in, birthday cakes aside. Parking's on site, about 200 metres from the door, and it's a ten-minute walk from New Street station if you're coming in by train.
Booking ahead is essential rather than a nice-to-have, and worth knowing they don't refund no-shows on the day, so get numbers right before you pay. Birthday parties and group bookings are clearly a big part of what they do, with party rooms laid on for it.
