What it’s like
A miniature role play town and soft play corner built for the under sixes, with a proper baby area too.
This one's aimed squarely at the small end of the age range. Kids under six get a little role play town to potter about in, plus a fun sized soft play area that's scaled down rather than the big three storey frames you get elsewhere. There's a separate baby area too, so a crawling one year old isn't getting mown down by an excitable four year old on a mission.
Sessions are timed, an hour and a half on weekdays and two hours at weekends, and you're expected to book ahead. Walk-ins are allowed if there's space, but arrive between sessions and you'll need to have a word with staff rather than just wandering in. Worth knowing that bookings are non-refundable, so a last minute change of plan costs you the ticket.
Pricing is tiered by age in a way that's easy to get wrong if you're booking for a baby. A baby in arms is the cheapest ticket going, £1.95 midweek and £2.95 at weekends, while a separate under 12 months rate runs a fair bit higher at £5.95 weekday and £6.95 weekend. A child from one to six is £7.95 midweek or £8.95 at the weekend, and adults go in cheap at £2.45 for two. Weekends bring in the higher prices across the board and the two hour session, and it's worth knowing babies in arms bookings can be restricted then and during school holidays.
There's a café on site for the inevitable snack stop, baby changing facilities, and toilets. Parking isn't on site but there's free parking nearby at Iceland, Asda, Aldi and Shirley Park for up to three hours, or an hour free on Stratford Road or by the Red Lion, all needing a ticket and all charging once the free period's up.
