What it’s like
An hour locked in a themed room with your team, cracking locks and riddles before the timer runs out.
You get sixty minutes to solve your way out, working through locks, riddles and clues as a team. There's a briefing first to explain the rules, then you're in the room on your own, no strangers thrown in with you, and a debrief afterwards where they take a free group photo. Budget close to an hour and a half all told once you count the briefing and the chat at the end.
The site puts the age limit at 7, but they're upfront that under 10s often find it too tough, which is worth sitting with before you book a room full of eight-year-olds expecting a game. If your youngest is 13 or under, an adult needs to be in the room with them, and if the adult's just there to watch, they don't pay. Fourteen and fifteen-year-olds need an adult on site but not necessarily in the room, and at 16 the kids are on their own.
Pricing drops the more of you there are, from £32 for two players down to £20 a head for a group of seven or eight, so it's the sort of thing that works out better as a bigger birthday outing than a quiet pair. Bigger groups than that get split across rooms, with everyone starting at the same time where they can. There's no room for changing your mind either: no cancellations, no refunds, and if you're more than 15 minutes late your slot gets cancelled outright, so build in time to find the place.
It's tucked underneath Snow Hill Metro Station, a five-minute walk from Snow Hill Train Station if you're coming by rail. Parking nearby is pay and display on Lionel Street, though it's free there after 6pm and on Sundays if you can time it right.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
It scales with group size, from £32 for two players down to £20 a head if you've got seven or eight. Bigger groups need extra rooms.
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, everything's booked online ahead of time. There's no turning up on spec.
What age is it suitable for?
Over 7s are let in, but the site itself says under 10s often struggle with the puzzles. Younger players need an adult in the room with them.
How long does the whole thing take?
The game itself runs about 60 minutes, plus a 5 to 10 minute briefing beforehand and a 10 minute debrief after. Reckon on an hour and a half in total.
What happens if we're running late?
Call or email as soon as you can, they'll sometimes let you play with less time on the clock. Turn up more than 15 minutes late though and the booking's cancelled with no refund.
Is there parking nearby?
Pay and display spots on Lionel Street, free after 6pm and on Sundays. There are also car parks on Hospital Street and Henrietta Street if that's full.
Can you book it for a big group or a party?
Groups of up to 27 can be split across four rooms, and there are Christmas party packages with drinks vouchers if you want to add those on.
