Glebe Farm Community Hub
WHERE
Birmingham
What it’s like
A weekday community hub with a Fit Fun Club, story time and a kids club with games and crafts, plus a breakfast club to start the day.
This one's less "big attraction" and more a proper local hub that happens to run a decent stack of kids' stuff. There's a Breakfast Club to get the morning going, Story & Activity Time for the younger ones, and a Kids Club with games and crafts thrown in. Older children get their own thing too, a Fit Fun Club aimed at six to elevens, so if you've got one child who wants to sit and listen to a story and another who wants to be a bit more active, both are covered.
It's open weekdays from 9.30am to 4pm, and outside the organised sessions it works as a normal drop-in space, somewhere to read, use the computers or printing, or just have a hot drink and a sit down while the kids are occupied. There's indoor seating and toilets on site, and food is available there too, so you're not having to plan around it too tightly.
Thursdays are a bit different: that's when Birmingham Mind and Birmingham City Council run drop-in sessions for mental health and occupational therapy advice, and there's bookable debt and benefits advice from Gain between 9.15am and 1pm. Handy to know if you're combining a kids' session with sorting something out for yourself, though it does mean Thursday mornings might feel a touch busier than the rest of the week.
There's no booking link listed for the kids activities themselves, which suggests you can generally just turn up during the weekday hours and see what's on.
