What it’s like
A mobile pottery painting outfit that turns up to cafés, homes and parties around Solihull so the kids paint their own piece to keep.
This isn't a studio you walk into. Fired Crafts is mobile, so they set up at local cafés and venues around Solihull for drop-in sessions, or come to you for a private party at home, school or nursery. The actual painting is the same wherever it happens: pick a piece, get stuck in with the brushes, and they take it away afterwards to glaze and kiln-fire it properly before you get it back.
Baby hand and footprint keepsakes are on the list too, which is a nice one if you've got a little one who's not old enough to paint anything themselves yet. There are also paint-at-home kits if you fancy doing the whole thing on your own sofa rather than tracking down one of their drop-in sessions.
For parties there are two routes. A mobile party needs a minimum of 10 guests and runs an hour for younger kids or an hour and a half for the sevens-and-up crowd, with a free personalised birthday plate thrown in. Or you buy a paint-your-own pottery party pack and run it yourself, which suits smaller groups who don't hit that guest minimum.
Because everything gets fired in a kiln afterwards, don't expect to walk out with the finished piece under your arm. That waiting bit is part of the deal with proper pottery painting, and it's what gives you a keepsake rather than a wet plate on the car seat.

Need to know
- Parties
- Mobile parties (from £60 plus pottery cost) or paint-your-own pottery party kits
- It's a mobile setup, so check where they're hosting drop-in sessions rather than expecting a fixed studio
- Mobile parties have a 10-guest minimum, so smaller groups suit the paint-your-own-pottery pack instead
- Finished pieces are fired in a kiln, so you won't take them home the same day
- Baby hand and footprint keepsakes are a good shout for the non-painting age group
Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
There's no online booking link, so you'd want to sort details directly for a drop-in session or a party.
How does the party work?
Mobile parties need at least 10 guests and run an hour for younger kids, an hour and a half for age 7 and up, plus a free personalised birthday plate. If your group's smaller, a paint-your-own pottery pack lets you run it yourselves.
Can a baby join in?
Not with the painting, but they do baby hand and footprint keepsakes, which is the option for that age.
Do we get the pottery on the day?
No, it goes off to be glazed and kiln-fired afterwards, so you'll get it back rather than take it home wet.
