What it’s like

Pick your own strawberries or pumpkins, ride the tractor trailer out to the field, then eat at the farm restaurant afterwards.

The main event is picking your own, and what's ripe depends on when you turn up. Strawberries lead the season, then blueberries, plums, raspberries, blackberries and sweetcorn as summer rolls on, before pumpkins take over in October. A tractor trailer takes you out to the picking field, which is half the fun before you've even picked anything.

Pumpkin season is the big date in the diary, running weekends across October (10th-11th, 17th-18th, 24th-31st, including half-term) from 9:30am to 3pm. Booking is essential for all Pick Your Own events, and the farm's honest about why: tickets are released according to how much fruit is actually ripe, which means fewer disappointed families turning up to bare bushes. There's also an Easter trail with puzzles and treats if you time a visit for spring.

Once you've picked your haul, the farm shop, butchery and deli are open every day from 9am to 5pm for the things you didn't grow yourself, and the restaurant runs 8:30am to 4:30pm for farm-to-table meals, with vegetarian options and allergy awareness on the menu. It's the kind of setup where a morning of picking naturally turns into lunch without having to go anywhere else.

Parking's free and on-site, the premises are wheelchair accessible with accessible toilets, and well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area. Birthday parties, group bookings and school visits are all catered for, so it's not just a one-off summer trip.
