What it’s like
Strawberry and raspberry picking, a maize maze and a straw pyramid to climb, on a farm that books up so plan ahead.
Picking is the main event here. Strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and other soft berries grow across the fields, and the rule is you pick first and eat after, which is a fair one but worth telling a hungry four-year-old before you get there. Beyond the rows there's a nature trail, a maize maze to get properly lost in, and a straw pyramid and tunnel that seems built for climbing and crawling rather than just looking at. There's a children's play area too, so a picking trip doesn't have to end the second the punnets are full.
This suits younger children well, roughly two to eight, and the straw pyramid and maze are the bits an older one in that range will remember over the fruit itself. Tickets need booking online in advance, and that's not just a nicety: if a date's fully booked, they won't take walk-ins, so turning up on spec is a gamble that doesn't pay off. Booking early also saves you a pound a head, which is a small thing but adds up with more than one child.
Parking's free with disabled spaces near admissions, and there's on-site food if you don't fancy packing a picnic. Rain doesn't stop play either, since strawberries and raspberries can be picked under cover, though there's no refund or date change for weather so it's a straight go-ahead-or-lose-it booking. That's worth knowing given tickets are non-refundable unless you add Booking Protection at purchase, which lets you move your slot within 48 hours if something comes up.
Wheelchair users should know the nature trail, maize maze and flower fields aren't accessible due to how the crops rotate, so it's worth ringing ahead if that affects your visit. The fruit season itself only runs mid-May to early September, and outside that the farm turns its attention to Pumpkin Fest in October, so this isn't a year-round pick-your-own.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
Tickets are bought online once the season opens, and booking in advance saves you £1 per person compared with turning up.
Do we need to book ahead?
Yes, and it genuinely matters here: if a date's fully booked they cannot take walk-ins.
What age is this good for?
It's aimed at roughly two to eight year olds, with the play area, straw pyramid and maze pitched at that range.
Is there parking?
Free parking on site, with disabled spaces close to the admissions entrance.
What if it rains?
Strawberries and raspberries can still be picked under cover. There's no refund or date change for rain unless you've bought Booking Protection.
Can we get a refund if plans change?
Bookings are non-refundable unless you add Booking Protection at purchase, which lets you shift to another date or time within 48 hours.
Is the farm wheelchair accessible?
Not entirely. The nature trail, maize maze and flower fields can't be reached by wheelchair because of how the crops rotate, so it's best to call ahead.
Do you do birthday parties?
Yes, from mid-May to late August for ages two to eight. Two hours in a party poly tunnel with snacks and squash included, plus extras like a bouncy castle or bubble machine.
When does the fruit season run?
Typically mid-May to early September, so it's a summer visit rather than an all-year one.
