What it’s like
Axe throwing, crazy golf and beer pong under one roof, with a 7pm cut-off for anyone under 18.
This is a games bar first and a family venue second, and the hours make that clear. Before 7pm, under 18s can have a go at augmented reality axe throwing and darts, crazier golf, shuffleboard, American pool or beer pong (with squash instead of lager, presumably), plus the karaoke booths if your kids are the singing sort. After 7pm it's strictly over-18s only, so an evening visit with the family is off the table.
Games start from £5, with bundles from £27.50 if you want to try a few in one go. It's a cashless venue, card or contactless only, so leave the coins at home. Food runs to burgers, chicken tenders and fries, with a £10 meal deal that covers tenders, fries and a drink, which is about right for a hungry ten-year-old between rounds.
Walk-ins are fine if you just want food and drink, but pre-booking the games is the sensible move if you want a guaranteed slot, especially at weekends. Bookings made online are paid in full upfront and are non-refundable, which is a bit of a faff if plans change. Some of the games carry their own age restrictions on top of the general under-18 rules, so it's not automatically open season for a six-year-old.
Parking is nearby at Five Ways car park on Tennant Street or the Euro car park in the Five Ways Entertainment Centre, and it's a five minute walk from Birmingham Five Ways train station if you're coming in that way.
