What it’s like
Trampolines, a foam pit and a dodgeball court for kids aged five and up, booked in 30 to 120 minute slots.
This is a jump-and-bounce sort of place: wall-to-wall trampolines, a free running area, a slam dunk court and an air bag to launch yourself onto. There's dodgeball too, and a foam pit for the ones who want to throw themselves in without worrying about the landing. Kids from five can book their own slot, and anyone twelve or under needs an adult on site the whole time, so this isn't a drop-and-run.
Sessions come in 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes, and the price climbs steadily from £8 for half an hour to £20 for two. Thirty minutes feels short once you've factored in getting kitted out in grip socks (£2.50 if you haven't brought your own), so unless you've got a very small jumper, sixty or ninety is probably the better spend. Under-fives get their own Toddler Time with a parent in tow, at £5 for an hour or £6 for two, which is a fair bit cheaper and a sensible way to let a small one bounce without getting flattened by an eight-year-old doing free running.
Booking is done online in advance and it's non-refundable, so don't book a slot on a whim if plans might change. Turn up late and your session still ends on time, and if the place is full you won't get rebooked, which stings if you've hit traffic. There's a café open at weekends for hot food and drinks, with vending machines and snacks from reception during the week, and outside food isn't allowed in except a birthday cake for parties.
Parking's free for the first two hours, and if you're staying longer you just log it at reception rather than paying anything extra. Parties run for both age groups, with a party room, food and decorations, and every guest goes home with a party bag that includes a 60-minute return pass, so the birthday child's mates end up with an excuse to come back.
