What it’s like
An 18+ Christmas party night in Birmingham with a three-course meal, fairground rides and a casino floor, for groups of 8 or more.
This one's for the grown-ups, and it's built for a proper night out rather than a quiet dinner. You get a three-course meal with entertainment laid on, then the run of the place: dodgems, a waltzer, and rides called Extreme and Miami, plus stage shows with acrobats and a DJ keeping the dance floor going. There are fun casino tables too if you fancy a flutter between courses.
Doors open at 18:45 with a 45 minute canapé reception before the meal starts, and the night runs on until the small hours, rides and attractions close at 12:50am and the bar follows at 12:45am. Everyone in the room needs to be 16 or over, but the all-inclusive drinks packages (prosecco, beer, cider and house wine all night) are 18+ only, and they run Challenge 25 at the bar so bring ID even if you're well past 25. No outside drinks are allowed in, at all, so don't bother bringing a bottle for the table.
Booking is where you need to pay attention. Groups need to be at least 8 people, since they don't mix different parties together on the night, and you'll need a £15 non-refundable deposit per person plus a £4.50 booking fee within 10 days of your provisional hold or the tickets get released. Menu choices are due 3 weeks out and they won't issue tickets until you've submitted them, which is an easy thing to forget in the run-up to Christmas.
Parking's free and there's plenty of it close to Hall 1, just follow the signs for Xmas Party World once you're on site. There's a staffed cloakroom too, so you're not lugging coats round the dance floor all night.
