What it’s like

Eighteen holes of adventure golf with waterfalls and rocky routes, plus a café bar to refuel in afterwards.

Eighteen holes wind through waterfalls and rocky routes here, with the odd hole-in-one shot thrown in to keep the competitive ones honest. It's a proper course rather than a quick putt round the car park, so budget more than twenty minutes if you want to actually finish it.

Anyone under 14 needs an adult with them on the course, which is fair enough given some of the terrain, but worth knowing if you were hoping to send the kids off while you grab a coffee. Nine of the eighteen holes are wheelchair accessible, and one carer gets in free with a paying customer. Last game is an hour before closing, so turn up in good time on a Sunday when it shuts at 5.

The pricing is broken down by group size, which is handy if there are five of you, less handy if you're trying to work out the family rate on the fly. A family ticket for two adults and up to three kids comes in at £25, and single child tickets are £7. Bring your own pen for the scorecard unless you fancy paying 10p for a pencil, which feels like the kind of charge that exists purely to make people smile.

There's a fully licensed café bar on site doing Costa coffee, breakfasts and sandwiches, though food stops being served at 3pm daily so plan your round around that if lunch matters. Picnic-style boxes turn up on summer weekends for outdoor seating, with indoor seating as the backup if the sky has other ideas. Ground frost can close the course entirely, so it's not one to bank on in the depths of winter.
