Tours, Trails & Treasure Hunts in Newcastle

Two proper options if you're after a trail or a bit of an adventure near Newcastle, both a short drive out. Tynemouth Park in North Shields charges from £5 and gives you adventure golf, an outdoor soft play jungle with a Kamikazi slide, and a pirate treasure trail, all walk-up with no booking needed. Out at Cramlington, Weetslade Country Park is free, with flat trails, a cycle route and a hilltop sculpture with sea and city views, open all year. If you want to keep costs down, Weetslade is the one, and its flat paths suit pushchairs as well as older kids on bikes. Tynemouth Park is the better pick if you want a proper day out with food on site and somewhere to mark a birthday, though you'll need to budget for the golf and the trail. Weetslade also welcomes wheelchairs and has a picnic area, so it's an easy choice if you fancy bringing your own lunch.
