Country Parks & Nature Reserves in Glasgow

If you want space to wander without paying for the privilege, Pollok Country Park is the one to know. It's free to get in, sits about six kilometres out from the centre, and has woodland trails, highland cattle grazing the fields and the Burrell Collection on site if anyone fancies going indoors for a bit. There's a car park, toilets, a picnic area and a cafe, so you can make a proper morning of it rather than a quick dash round. It suits most ages, with paths flat enough for buggies and wheelchairs and enough ground to let older kids range further while you stick to the main trails with toddlers. Dogs are welcome too. There's nowhere else on this page yet, but with parking, food and toilets all sorted on site, it's an easy first stop for a nature outing in Glasgow.
