Gardens & Arboretums in Glasgow
Glasgow does well for a wander among plants without needing a car. Glasgow Botanic Gardens sits close to the centre in the West End, free to get into, with glasshouses to duck into when it rains and lawns for sitting out when it doesn't. Out at Clarkston, Greenbank Garden is the National Trust one, from £5, with a cafe, toilets and a gift shop, and it's wheelchair accessible throughout. If you want free and easy, the Botanic Gardens is the one to head for, and you can bring a picnic or your dog. If you'd rather make an afternoon of it with a cup of tea and proper facilities, Greenbank is worth the short trip out to Clarkston, and the parking there is handy if you're coming with buggies or bags to carry.
