Comedy in Edinburgh
Edinburgh does comedy properly, and most of it sits close to the centre. Cab-arette puts you in the back of a cab for a comedy tour of the city, suitable from age 12. The Queen's Hall does proper stand-up with pew and gallery seating, tickets from £26.75, strictly 14 and up. Pleasance Courtyard runs multiple stages through the Fringe, with age suitability depending entirely on the show you pick. For adults only, the Banshee Labyrinth is an underground bar with karaoke, gigs and comedy nights, no under 18s at all, and Mountebank Scotland runs a comedy walking tour of the old town with an optional whisky tasting. Younger ones are better served by Silent Adventures, a headphone party that comes to your door, from £195, for age 5 up. If you need food with it, the Beehive Inn has a beer garden and a comedy club upstairs, or the Advocate does a kids' menu and high chairs for a simpler stop.
