What it’s like

A pub stop with a kids' menu, high chairs and telly on, for when you just need a table and some food.

This is a pub rather than an attraction, so there's no big reveal for the kids here, just a table, a kids' menu and something to watch while everyone eats. That's exactly what you want some days, especially if the alternative is another soft play with your name on the waiting list.

The kitchen does vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options alongside the usual kids' menu, so a table with different tastes and allergies should still find something everyone's happy with. High chairs are there for the smaller ones, and there's indoor seating and wifi if anyone needs distracting between courses.

Doors open at 11am every day and stay open late, midnight most nights and 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, though that matters more for the grown-ups than the kids. They'll take you without a booking, but they recommend booking ahead if you want a table waiting rather than standing about with a toddler while one clears.

It's wheelchair accessible, though they say some of their older buildings aren't perfect on that front. Dogs are welcome on a lead too, which is handy if the family dog usually gets left at home on pub trips.
