Walking & Cycling Trails in Birmingham
Not much to choose from yet on this one, but what's here is close and easy. Ward End Park, a few minutes out from the centre, has a lake you can walk right round, which makes for a proper stretch of the legs rather than a quick loop. There's a playground for when the walking part is done, and courts if anyone in your group fancies tennis or basketball afterwards. It suits a family walk more than a serious hike, so go in expecting a gentle circuit with somewhere to sit and something for the kids to do at the end rather than miles of trail. Bring a ball for the courts if you want to make an afternoon of it. As more trails get added here, this is the easy, central option to start with.
